India: A full-scale model of a first-class four-berth sleeping compartment is being showcased at the IREE 2025 exhibition in New Delhi.
The mock-up features USB charging outlets, reading lights, ladders, storage niches, and an additional shelf for hand luggage. Alongside the interior concept, Kinet Railway Solutions—a joint venture between Russia’s TMH and India’s Rail Vikas Nigam Limited—has also presented an updated exterior design concept.

The design work forms part of the 2023 contract between Kinet and Indian Railways for the supply and 35-year maintenance of 120 Vande Bharat sleeper trains (totalling 1,920 cars), with production to take place in India. Both the interior and exterior designs are being jointly finalised with the customer.
The first train prototype is expected to be unveiled in June 2026. The rolling stock will be manufactured at the Latur plant, where site modernisation is nearing completion (see for details), while a new maintenance depot is under construction in Jodhpur.
