Kazakhstan: The TU10 diesel locomotive, two VP750 DITS passenger coaches, and one open passenger coach without windows have been recently put in pilot operation.
The rolling stock will be used for the children’s railway in Semey, Kazakhstan. This is the narrow-gauge 750 mm line stretching for two kilometres, with a number of stations on the route. The children’s railway, where a new platform is now being built, will be soon reconstructed finally.
Each passenger coach of 12 m long can accommodate 32 passengers seated and features two seating arrangements for wheelchair users. The rolling stock can operate all year round as the coaches are equipped with a heating system.
The children’s railway in Semey was first constructed in 1979 and had a length of five kilometres, but in 1995 it was closed. In 2023, the revival project commenced.
For many years, the Kambarka Engineering Works has been a supplier of trains for children’s railways in Russia, Mongolia, and Belarus.
