Japan: The operator has released a video showing exterior and interior renderings of the future E10 Series trains.
The design has been developed by Tangerine, UK, highlighting the fact that Shinkansen have previously only been designed by Japanese companies.

The new high-speed train will replace the E2 and E5 trains that operate on the 575.7 km Tohoku line. The E10 will receive technology to absorb vibrations from earthquakes, reducing the risk of derailment, and SiC traction converters. For the first time, a Shinkansen train will be equipped with a self-ventilated induction traction motor.
The ten-car trainsets will have a maximum speed of 320 km/h, with a GoA4 option. Currently, JR East is working on the introduction of driverless trains, to be launched from 2030.
