China: The company has released a video of the CR450BF interior. Its prototype was unveiled in Beijing in the last days of December 2024.
The video shows compartments of different classes, a dining car, meeting rooms and a baggage section.
According to Zhao Hongwei, the chief engineer at the China Academy of Railway Sciences, the new train boasts a 22% higher energy efficiency and 10% lower weight than its predecessor, the CR400.
Han Xiaohui, the chief engineer at CRRC’s Quingdao plant, says the thin-walled body is made of aluminium alloy. The company adopted Hybrid Laser Arc Welding, HLAW, to produce these car bodies, which have 20% higher strength.

The development of the train, based on the national Fuxing platform, has been underway since 2021, with more than 2,100 companies and organisations participating in R&D activities.
