Indonesia: Twelve-car CLI-225 and SFC120-V trainsets are undergoing certification tests on Jakarta’s suburban routes. It is reported that the vehicles must cover a 4,000 km run before entering revenue service.
PT Inka, the local manufacturer, secured a March 2023 contract with the regional operator KCI to deliver 16 CLI-225 trains between 2025–2027. Meanwhile, China’s CRRC won a 2024 tender against Japanese J-Trec and South Korean Wojin and Dawonsys to supply 11 SFC120-V units, marking its second Indonesian contract following the delivery of 11 CR400AF high-speed trains.
Both stainless-steel CLI-225 and SFC120-V models are fitted with drives with IGBT-based traction converters and designed to operate at a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The SFC120-V model offers a claimed capacity of 3,400 passengers.
