India: The latest news on the project comes from the country’s Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
According to him, the hydrogen engine has been assembled and commissioning is underway. Local media report that the diesel train converted to hydrogen by Medha Servo Drives will be tested in the first quarter of this year.
The mock-up of the head motor car was unveiled at the Inno Rail India expo in the city of Lucknow. The company announced the following parameters for the train: a power plant of 2,400 kW, including 1,600 kW from Ballard fuel cells and 800 kW from batteries, a range of 375 km, a maximum speed of 110 km/h and a passenger capacity of 2,638.

As Mr. Vaishnaw said, the engine of this train surpasses the solutions offered by other train builders. At the same time, the Indian train will consist of ten cars (two head motor cars and eight non-motor cars), while other companies develop two- and three-car trains.
