South Korea: The manufacturer’s vehicles were showcased in mid-June at the RailLog Korea exhibition in Busan.
Among the exhibits was an automated metro train for Taoyuan, Taiwan. It can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h and accommodate 320 passengers, including 58 seated. The contract for the supply of 40 two-car trainsets, worth KRW 542.4 bln ($400 mln), was signed in 2018.
Also on display was the first of 40 seven-car low-floor trams ordered by Edmonton, Canada, in 2021 for KRW 218.8 bln ($160 mln). The tram has a capacity of 270 passengers, including 78 seats.
In addition, the head car of a train for Seoul’s airport express was exhibited. The train will have a maximum operating speed of 150 km/h and is designed for 876 passengers, 246 of whom can be seated. The agreement for the supply of nine six-car trainsets, valued at KRW 181 bln ($131 mln), was signed in 2022.
