Mexico: A fleet of 12 two-car TEG-23 trainsets has been operating in the Mexican city since mid-December 2025.
The vehicles provide service with nine-minute headways on Line 4, spanning 21.7 km and having nine stations. The end-to-end journey time is 35–38 minutes.
Each 29.5 m EMU is reported to accommodate 300 passengers and provide dedicated spaces for wheelchair users. With an acceleration of 1.2 m/s2, the new rolling stock has a maximum operating speed of 80 km/h. The trains can also negotiate curves with a radius of 25 m and operate in multiples of two vehicles, forming trainsets with the existing four models running in the city.
The contract for these trains was awarded to a consortium between CRRC and Portuguese Mota-Engil in 2022. In early 2024, the SKD sets prepared by CRRC’s Zhuzhou plant arrived in Guadalajara, where the final assembly took place, including the installation of the bogies and electrical equipment.
