Poland: The train with electric and diesel traction has commenced operation on the Gorzów Wielkopolski–Witnica route.
Featuring a capacity of 229 passengers, including 84 seated, the two-car Plus 227M can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h powered by DC catenary, and 120 km/h in diesel mode.
This is the Poznań plant’s inaugural design of multiple units, first unveiled in 2021. Two trains based on the Plus platform have been constructed so far, the two-car Plus 227M and the three-car Plus 228M2 (planned to be certified in November). Both vehicles have been purchased by Lubusz Voivodeship at a cost of PLN 73.8 mln ($17.3 mln), with over 80% co-financing from the EU.

The Polish manufacturer is also committed to developing battery and hydrogen versions of the train. However, FPS still focuses on producing passenger coaches. This year, the company has won a large tender for the delivery of up to 450 coaches to the national operator PKP Intercity.
