As Doston Sotiboldiev, head of the Tashkent South Railway Station, told Gazeta.uz five such trains are planned for purchase in 2025. At the same time, the Uzbek rail transport modernisation programme calls for the purchase of 30 such trains by 2030.
The country has also ordered 30 four-car EMUs from Škoda Group, however the implementation of the contract wasn’t given publicity, and Škoda Group left unaddressed enquiries from ROLLINGSTOCK.
