Russia: The TMH plant in Tver has proved the compliance of the refurbished 61-4492 coach with the TR CU 001/2011 certificate. The base model was certified in November 2024 and then put in operation as part of the Aurora train running between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

According to TMH, the new coach modification is distinguished by an increased number of toilets (from two to three) and an innovative ‘star sky’ lighting system in both the first- and second-class interiors.

The branded high-speed train, dubbed the Burevestnik, connected Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod between 1965 and 2014. The debut run of the upgraded trainset is scheduled by the Federal Passenger Company (FPC, part of Russian Railways) for 3 December. The train will consist of 15 double-deck coaches, providing 1,190 seats. By the time of the launch, TMH’s plant in Tver will have delivered to Russian Railways 37 coaches of four types, including sitting coaches, couchette coaches for staff, first-class couchette coaches and restaurant coaches.
