Russia: For the second consecutive year, the plant breaks records.

This year, the subsidiary of TMH is expected to fulfil a third more orders than last year, when it fulfilled 23% more orders (528 cars) than the year before. “This is a full utilisation of our capacities”. These are the words that Vladimir Chekalin, General Director of Demikhovo plant, used to characterise the current situation in his interview with RZD TV. He also mentioned that there would be twice as many repair orders in 2024.

The plant will build not only AC electric trains EP3d, but also such DC trains as EP2D and EP2DM. The latter is a new version of EP2D, which was certified and 178 cars were produced last year.

Ruslan Lisnevsky, Deputy Head of the RZD Corporate Management Centre for the Suburban Complex, recently stated to Gudok that in 2024, the national operator plans to purchase 122 EP3Ds and 64 EP2Ds cars, which is 27% of DMZ’s annual output. Additionally, the Central Transport Hub, operated by the Central Exurban Passenger Company (CEPC), intends to buy a substantial number of EMUs.

As one of the largest EMU producers globally, DMZ is actively expanding its capacities. The company is implementing several projects to achieve component sovereignty, including mastering the production of reduction drives for multiple units.
