China: The new train has been developed by CRRC specifically designed with older tourists in mind. Developed in collaboration with operator CR Harbin, the train officially entered service in the Heilongjiang province in August.
According to CRRC, the train accommodates 528 passengers across 18 coaches, including 13 sleeping coaches, a dining coach, service vehicles, a multifunctional car, and a generator unit. Most sleeping compartments are arranged as traditional four-berth ones, with sleeping berths measuring 1.8 m in length. The ceiling height exceeds the Chinese industry standard, providing additional headroom for upper berths. In addition to four-berth compartments, the train offers compartments for two persons.
A highlight of the train is its multifunctional coach, which offers a relaxation area for 20 passengers featuring massage chairs and a gaming zone. It also includes a medical centre equipped with physiotherapy devices and an automated diagnostic scanner.
