China: The four-car train was unveiled at the Chinese producer’s plant this summer.
The new train follows the previous modification in GoA2 equipment, ensuring semi-automatic operation with the opportunity to upgrade to the highest level of unattended operation, GoA4. The new train differs from the previous one in its ability to accommodate 1,282 passengers, and, as Railway Gazette mentions, to reach a design speed of 250 km/h. However, other media sources have not corroborated this information.

With the streamlined shape, aerodynamic drag is stated to be 5% less compared to other trains operating in China. In addition, permanent magnet synchronous traction motors and special aluminium alloys of which the body make energy consumption 15% lower. The introduction of a component monitoring system and oil-free compressors with air-cooled traction transformers is expected to reduce maintenance costs by 30%. Moreover, the train is 95% recyclable.
