Canada: The rolling stock was unveiled in early January at a maintenance centre in Toronto.

The train consists of a Charger SC-42 diesel locomotive and three Venture coaches, with the last one fitted with a control cab, manufactured at US-based plants. The interior features 169 seats across several service classes, a buffet and an area for wheelchairs.

In total, the government of Ontario has ordered three such trainsets for CAD 139.5 mln or $102 mln. According to a preliminary schedule published by the operator Ontario Northland, the trains will run overnight, covering the 740 km route in 10 hours and 40 minutes at an average speed of 69 km/h.

The first trainset will undergo commissioning in Toronto before proceeding to trials on the line. The remaining trains are planned for delivery in the first half of the year. It is expected that all three units will be launched into passenger service by the end of the year.
