Spain, Sweden: The four-car trainset has arrived at Moerdijk, a port in the Netherlands, en route to the VUZ Velim test centre in the Czech Republic.

In 2021, a €250 mln contract was signed between the Spanish manufacturer and the leasing company AB Transitio. The contract comprises the delivery of 20 four-car electric multiple units and eight three-car biodiesel-electric hybrid units to be deployed in four Swedish regions.

The Civity Nordic has been designed to operate in extreme weather conditions, from -40 °C to +40 °C. The trains, which will measure 76 and 67 m in length, will have 190 and 140 seats, respectively. Running three in multiple, the trains will have a maximum speed of 200 km/h when powered by catenary and 140 km/h when powered by biodiesel.
