Italy: Last week, the first four-car train arrived at Rovato, where the maintenance centre and refuelling station are located.

This followed static and dynamic tests at Alstom’s plant in Salzgitter, Germany. The company plans to start hydrogen refuelling and operational tests shortly.

The Coradia Stream H was unveiled at EXPO Ferroviaria in autumn 2023. The train uses the EMU platform of the same name and the hydrogen propulsion system of the already mass-produced Coradia iLint in an intermediate car. The train has 260 seats and a range of 660 km.

The 2022 contract and its 2023 option give the Lombardy operator FNM eight trains. An option for an additional six trains has not yet been exercised. The new rolling stock will be in service on the line between Brescia and Edolo from the end of the year.
