Germany: The spokesperson for the company said to the local media that the first 20 EMUs would be delivered in March 2026, with the rest 14 trainsets by the end of 2026.
Alstom blames another delay on supply chain bottlenecks and increased time of receiving approval for the trains.
The customer, the Local Transport Authority of Lower Saxony (LNVG), in turn, demands that the company provide it with other trains as temporary substitutes. Alstom hasn’t commented on this demand yet.
The €760 mln contract to supply 34 partially double-deck trains was concluded in 2021. Initially, all vehicles were supposed to enter revenue service this December. However, the deadlines have been postponed several times. Alstom justified it with electrical components supply problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation in Ukraine, and increased waiting time for body components from China.
