South Korea: The trains will be fitted with permanent magnet synchronous motors and the Driver Advisory System, which will advise on the optimum speed and maintain it.
The power consumption is said to be 30% less compared to the previous generation vehicles. The new units will also have improved information and safe systems, soundproofing, and shock absorption.

In December 2024, Woojin became the only bidder on the tender of the national operator, Korail. The manufacturer proposed to supply 108 cars worth KRW 1.8 bln, approx. $1.25 mln, per unit. Ten eight-car trains will be launched on the Seoul Metro Line 1, four six-car EMUs will be put into service on the Korean capital’s suburban Suin–Bundang line, and one four-car vehicle will be inaugurated on the Donghae Line in Busan Metropolitan City. The launch is scheduled for 2027–2028.
