Portugal: CAF has published a video on its social networks of Urbos trams operating in Lisbon.
The fleet of 15 five-car LRVs was delivered to Portugal’s capital between 2023 and 2024. The €43.4 mln contract on their supply was signed with the city’s operator Carris in April 2021. It was the company’s first order in 26 years to supply trams to the city.
The 28.5 m long low-floor Urbos LRVs are fitted with three bogies and have four doors on each side of two intermediate cars. The vehicles can accommodate 221 passengers and reach peak speeds of 70 km/h. The interior boasts areas for wheelchairs.
