Russia: This message was conveyed by Alexey Teksler, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, to Mikhail Mishustin, Russian Prime Minister, at the INNOPROM exhibition.

“Production will be set up in a new workshop, scheduled for completion in 2025”, the press service of the regional government reports.

In 2022, Roscosmos, a state-owned corporation specialising in space activities, announced that its subsidiary, the Ust-Katav Car-building Plant (UKCP), planned to implement a double-deck tram project. The new vehicle was stated to be launched at Vostochny Cosmodrome, a Russian spaceport. As the necessary infrastructure for the spaceport is currently being developed, Roman Novikov, General Director at UKCP unveiled the tram transportation services concept in July. Today, the double-deck trams are built in Hong Kong, while those intended for tourist use are manufactured by CRRC.
