The new lines in Morocco’s largest city extend over 25.6 km and include 39 stations.

The fleet of 24 new five-car Alstom Citadis X05s operates in double units with 10-minute headways. At a later stage, the number of vehicles will be increased while the headways will be reduced to five minutes.

The manufacturer inked a €130 mln contract with Casa Transports, the city’s public transport operator, for the delivery of 66 Citadis X05s back in November 2020. The rolling stock was produced at a plant in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Spain, and part of the electrical equipment was delivered by its factory in Fez, Morocco.
