Germany: On 13 April, the seven-section tram was put in operation on the German city’s network.
A total of nine such LRVs are expected to provide passenger service by the end of the year. The rolling stock should have been launched back in 2022. The delay is connected with the 2024 flood in Valencia that affected the local Stadler plant.
Designed for a top speed of 70 km/h, the 42 m Tramlink can accommodate 231 passengers, including 86 seated. It has five double and two single doors on one side. The interior features two multi-purpose areas for wheelchair users and passengers with prams.

The Swiss manufacturer signed a €57 mln contract for 11 trams with Augsburg’s public transport operator swa in October 2019. A year later, the customer exercised an option for another four LRVs. The order also provides for 16-year maintenance service of the fleet.
In recent years, the Tramlink has become one of Stadler’s most popular tram platforms. According to the manufacturer, it has sold more than 340 such trams all over the world. In particular, Switzerland, Italy and Germany have recently commissioned Stadler’s Tramlinks.
