Australia: The city has inaugurated the first section of the 12 km Parramatta Light Rail L4 with 16 stations.
A fleet of 13 seven-car low-floor Urbos 100 trams started running every nine minutes. This tram model has been operating on the L1 line since 2015.

All LRVs are fitted with roof-mounted Li-Ion batteries with a 3.7 km operational range, so that the trams can cover two non-electrified sections of the route. The fixed charging station is found on the terminus. The passenger capacity is 400 people, with 76 of them seated, and the maximum speed is 80 km/h.

The interior boasts bicycle stands and areas for wheel- and pushchairs. The driver’s cabs are fitted with collision warning and driver drowsiness detection systems. The contract on trams supply was signed late in 2018.
