Czechia: The ForCity Plus Praha 52T, a 100% low-floor five-car tram, has been presented at the production site in Pilsen.
The vehicle’s test run without passengers is expected to commence in Prague in April. Another eight trams are currently under construction at the Škoda plant.

The 32 m tram is equipped with two pivoting bogies, the front one and the rear one, and two partly pivoting middle bogies. It can accommodate 243 passengers, with 70 of them seated. The use of electromechanical (instead of hydraulic) brakes, which was one of the tender conditions, has become a first-of-a-kind solution for Škoda Group. The vehicle, featuring five double doors of 1.3 m each, is fitted with a regenerative braking system, passenger counting and anti-collision systems.
The contract, signed in 2023 with the Prague operator DPP, provides for the delivery of 40 such trams in 2025 and 2026. An option for a further 160 vehicles is also included into the agreement.
