Czechia: The company has commenced the assembly of the first low-floor ForCity Plus Praha 52T at its Plzeň plant.

The production process will begin with manufacturing body parts from sheet metal, followed by car body tests in Q3. After the pre-production stage, when three vehicles will be built, the company will deliver the first batch of 20 trams to the Prague city operator DPP in December 2025.

The 32 m long ForCity Plus Praha 52T will feature two pivoting bogies and two middle partly pivoting bogies. Each vehicle has a capacity of up to 173 passengers, of which 70 will be seated. The trams will also be equipped with regenerative braking, passenger counting and anti-collision systems.

Škoda Group has been awarded a contract by DPP for the supply of trams in 2023. As part of the CZK 16.6 bln (€677.3 mln) contract, the manufacturer will supply up to 200 trams, with 40 delivered by 2026 under its firm order.
