USA: The STCP consortium has selected the Swiss manufacturer to implement the Los Angeles metro expansion project.

No information about the scope and value of the order has been disclosed yet. The technical specifications stipulate that trains will be operated at 90-second intervals, while control equipment will be supplied by Siemens.

The Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project (STCP) is currently evaluating the optimal design for the 22.5 km line connecting two districts. The line will be either surface or underground. The project is currently undergoing an environmental assessment.

In 2019, Stadler secured its first contract for CQ400 metro trains. 127 vehicles worth $646 mln were to be operated in Atlanta. According to the local operator MARTA, the prototypes are now assembled at a plant in Salt Lake City, launched in 2019. The rolling stock will commence passenger service in 2025, which is two years behind the original schedule.
