Russia: Visualisations of the first and second floor interiors were presented in handout materials by the Ust-Katav Car-Building Plant (UKCP) at the INNOPROM exhibition.
According to information provided to ROLLINGSTOCK by the plant, work is currently under way on the supply of such trams to St Petersburg. Moscow could also be a potential customer for the Antar: the possibility of building these trams for the Russian capital has been discussed previously.
The materials note that the single-section low-floor tram is intended primarily for tourist routes with significant passenger flow. It is expected to be fitted with batteries offering a range of up to 3 km, a diagnostic system covering all technical systems, a multimedia information complex including a “smart city” system, a driver safety system, and other features.

According to the design specifications, the tram will use two twin-axle bogies with a 1.8 m wheelbase, fitted with a total of four 72 kW motors. The tram’s length is set at 16.8 m and its height at 5.4 m. Design speed is expected to reach 75 km/h, with a mass not exceeding 20 t.

The double-decker tram concept was first announced in 2022 by state corporation Roscosmos, of which UKCP is a part. A mock-up was displayed at INNOPROM last year. The development is in line with international practice: double-decker trams are currently produced in Hong Kong, with tourist models also built by China’s CRRC.
