Türkiye: A trial run of the local manufacturer’s four-car trainset was carried out with the participation of Tahir Buyukakin, Mayor of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. The vehicle was running in autonomous mode along the 15.4 km Gebze–Darica line, which is to be launched by the end of 2025.
Bozankaya has already delivered the whole batch of seven LRVs ordered for the route. These are the first driverless metro trains produced by the manufacturer. The vehicles with a capacity of 1,476 passengers can run at a maximum speed of 80 km/h. They are fitted with 12 motors, 135 kW each, and have 16 double doors per side of the trainset.

The new vehicles are stated to have been produced locally at a rate of 63%, with Turkish-made bogies, onboard signalling, air-conditioning units and other components. Bozankaya has gained competency to manufacture metro cars while implementing a 2016 contract in partnership with Siemens Mobility for the delivery of 22 metro trains for Thailand.
