Poland: The manufacturer scored the highest points in all three lots of the tender of the operator MPK Kraków announced in the summer of 2024.

Pesa offered to supply 30 three-car unidirectional trams for PLN 643.7 mln (€153.7 mln), 30 three-car bidirectional trams for PLN 691.9 mln (€165.3 mln) and 30 four-car trams for PLN 854 mln (€204 mln). To compare, Skoda Group’s bid for the last lot was PLN 895 mln (€213.8 mln).

MPK Kraków reportedly gives priority to an order for 30 three-car bidirectional trams, which are to be delivered from 2028 at the latest. The decision to purchase the remaining 60 vehicles will depend on the availability of funding.

Pesa has earlier announced its plans to supply trams based on a new platform to Krakow. These vehicles, with a top speed of 80 km/h, are expected to feature anticorrosion properties, energy efficiency and noise reduction.
