Estonia: The low-floor tram was produced at the plant in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Pesa’s project manager Pawel Hardy told the Raport Kolejowy news agency that the LRV is to arrive in Estonia’s capital by the end of the month. Then commissioning, performance testing, trial and driver training will begin. The launch of the revenue service is scheduled for July.
The 28.6 m three-car Twist tram can accommodate 309 passengers, 65 of whom are seated, and has an operational speed of 50 km/h. The passenger area has AC, remote diagnostic, passenger counting, energy recuperation systems, and information displays.
Pesa signed a contract with the city’s operator Tallinna Linnatransport to supply eight trams in May 2022, after winning the city’s tender, and this was its first tram contract in Estonia. Later, an option for an additional 15 vehicles was implemented. The total contract value amounted to €52 mln.
