Contracts and tenders in the tram market.
China: The stainless steel-bodied four-car Metropolis train was delivered to the Department of Rapid Transit Systems, Taipei.
Portugal: The capital’s metro operator has shared a video featuring the process of the vehicle’s manufacturing at the Valencia site, Spain. Delivered to Lisbon in August, the first train is now undergoing testing.
USA: The full-scale mock-up of the Type 10 four-car tram was exhibited at one of Boston’s squares late in October.
Paris: RATP, the Paris public transport operator, and TSO, an infrastructure maintenance contractor, have signed contracts with Plasser & Theurer and Scheuchzer.
Russia: 31 October, the Volgograd Metrotram, a network with 17 surface and 5 subway tram stations, restarted its work after reconstruction.
Portugal: The winner is Swiss Stadler, which has already announced its signing a framework contract with the Portuguese capital’s metro operator for the manufacture and supply of up to 36 three-car units.
Germany: Visitors to this year’s show in Berlin could see trams from Alstom, Hyundai Rotem, Astra and others, while the only metro train and tram-train were presented by Stadler.
Russia: Sergey Shunin, General Director for Sinara – Urban Machines, a subsidiary of Sinara – Transport Machines (STM), announced the news in the course of the Public Transport forum that took place on 25 October in Moscow.
