France: The fleet of four five-car TW20 trams has entered revenue service on the 17 km T1 line. All 37 trams ordered for the line are expected to start running by August 2025.
The 33 m TW20 can carry 200 passengers at a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The tram has 12 double doors with a width of 1,300 mm.

The TW20 incorporates modern solutions that are now standard: LED lighting, LCD screens, USB ports, etc. An improved traction system and optimised climate control have made it possible to increase energy efficiency by 30%. Another advantage of the tram is that, according to Alstom, 95% of its components are recyclable and 99% are reusable. The trams will be built at eight Alstom sites in France.
The order for 37 trams, worth €130 mln was placed in 2021, with an option for an additional 28 vehicles worth €89 mln exercised this July. Deliveries started in March.
