Portugal: The capital’s metro operator has shared a video featuring the process of the vehicle’s manufacturing at the Valencia site, Spain. Delivered to Lisbon in August, the first train is now undergoing testing.
The body of the three-car ML 20 train is made of stainless steel. The 49.6 m long and 2.8 m wide LRV can accommodate 540 passengers, 90 of them seated. Initially, the rolling stock is fitted with CBTC GoA2, but it will be possible to upgrade the vehicles to the highest level of automation, GoA4.

Then, over the following four and a half years, a batch of 24 ML24 trains is planned to be manufactured and supplied, according to a new 2024 contract.
