The Bangkok metro operator BEM plans to order 51 three-car trains by the end of the year, with the order to be fulfilled over the next two or three years. The possible suppliers are Siemens Mobility and Japan Transport Engineering Company (J-TREC). The latter’s rolling stock is already put in operation in the Thai capital.

The capital of the country is going to purchase 33 new metro trains at a cost of more than BRL 2 bln ($360 mln). It has been earlier reported about an intention to buy 15 new trains. The tender is to be announced within several months, and the procurements are expected to start in 2026 or 2027. The new rolling stock will replace the whole fleet of the 1000 Series trains which have been in operation since 1998.

DPB, the public transport operator of Bratislava, has launched a framework tender for the delivery of up to 40 trams. 20 unidirectional and 20 bidirectional 85% or more low-floor LRVs, with a capacity of up to 240 passengers each, are to be supplied. The total value of the procurement is €150 mln excluding VAT. Similar tenders have been earlier announced by DPB, but cancelled due to technical errors. From 2014 to 2024, 90 ForCity Plus 29Т and 30Т trams with corresponding characteristics were supplied by Škoda Group to the capital of Slovakia.
