Latest contracts, tenders and purchases in the sector of urban rail transport. 

🇺🇸 Alstom will supply ten unmanned rubber-tyred Innovia APM R for an automated transport system of the Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport. The $84 mln contract also envisages an overhaul of two lines and the renewal of the signalling systems. The project is to be finished by the end of 2027. Alstom delivers similar trains to the airports in Denver, Singapore and other cities.

🇺🇸 The light rail transport project in Los Angeles received $893.3 mln in federal funds. The grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation will add to $600 mln, allocated last year from the budget of California State. The first phase of the construction of a light rail line in the East San Fernando Valley will totally cost $3.6 bln. The 10.8 km line is to have 11 stations and a fleet of 33 high-floor trams. The launch is scheduled for 2031.

🇷🇺 The Ust-Katav Car-Building Plant (UKCP) started delivery of a new tram batch to the city of Chelyabinsk. According to the manufacturer, the first two semi low-floor 71-623-04 LRVs have already arrived in the city. Under January 2024 contracts, UKCP is to supply 56 trams by the end of the year, among which the already mentioned 71-623-04 and low-floor 71-628 vehicles. The 2021–2023 contracts saw Chelyabinsk acquire 145 new UKCP trams.

🇬🇧 Alstom, CAF, Hitachi Rail and Stadler are invited to participate in a tender for the supply of trams to London. The city operator TfL is to replace all 24 Bombardier CR4000 vehicles, produced in 1998–1999. There is also a feasibility to supply an additional ten trams. The tender procedures are to begin after the corresponding financing is approved. TfL holds the negotiations on this matter with the UK Government. The new vehicles are to be launched in the late 2020s.
