Wiener Linien, the Austrian capital’s public transport operator, has exercised an option for 27 five-car Alstom Flexity trams. With the new batch, a fleet of these trams, which were ordered from 2015, will reach 146 vehicles, while only 80 of them are currently in operation now. The final order is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026.

GSP Beograd has secured a contract with Bozankaya for 25 trams, worth RSD 7.9 bln (€67.5 mln). The Serbian capital will receive the rolling stock in the next 13 months. Other tenderers, Pesa and Siemens Mobility, expressed reservations about the purchase due to the short deadlines for the submission of bids and the delivery of trams, as well as the specific requirements for the rolling stock.
DRMC has announced a tender for the supply of 13 three-car metro trains to Bhubaneswar. The trains will operate from 2028 on the first metro line to be opened by then. The GoA2 steel-bodied trains will accommodate 972 passengers. Ten of these trains will be manufactured under the Make in India programme.
CAF has delivered the first two-car HF1 high-floor tram to Germany. The bi-directional vehicle has been received by Ruhrbahn, an urban transport operator in Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr. After the delivery of the second pre-series vehicle, both trams will undergo a trial run. The Spanish manufacturer has signed a €150 mln contract for 51 trams in June 2021.

The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development has terminated the tender process for the purchase of 17 five-car trams for Kharkiv. The bank has announced that no winning bidder has been selected. In addition, the previous tender for eight trams of five cars for the same city has also been cancelled. Previously, CRRC was awarded a tender in 2022, but a contract has not been signed.
