Canada: Broadcaster CP24 has aired a report from Alstom’s tram manufacturing facility in Brampton, Ontario, featuring the final assembly hall. The video shows the installation of electrical components and glazing, with Alstom representatives noting that the construction of a single tram takes around four to five months.
At present, the plant is assembling four-section bi-directional Citadis Spirit LRVs under a contract with transit agency Metrolinx. These vehicles are intended for the inter‑urban Brampton–Mississauga line in the Greater Toronto Area, although their delivery schedule remains unclear due to delays in infrastructure construction.

The first 18 trams entered service on a new line within Toronto itself in early December. In total, the 2017 contract covers the supply of 61 Citadis Spirit vehicles valued at CAD 528 mln (approximately $385 mln). It is worth noting that trams of the same model have been in service in Ottawa since 2019, where they have faced several technical issues, including wheel cracking and derailments, linked to infrastructure conditions rather than vehicle components.
