Russia: PC Transport Systems (PC TS) has announced that its 71-952 tram has received commission approval for entry into serial production. To date, no serial orders for these trams have been placed, nor have any tenders been announced for trams of this configuration.

The five-section high-speed tram was developed by PC TS jointly with TMH. It was first unveiled last year at the INNOPROM exhibition in Yekaterinburg and later exhibited at the PRO//Motion.Expo salon in St Petersburg, after which it underwent field trials in the city.

At 37.5 m in length, the bidirectional tram can carry 400 passengers, including 72 seated. Its pivoting bogies with even load distribution and specially designed articulation joints allow it to negotiate curves with a minimum radius of 16 m. The vehicle is fitted with batteries providing a catenary-free range of 15 km at full passenger load.
