Estonia: The low-floor Twist tram started operation on a 11.5 km tram line 2. It has covered 1,000 km of a test run before launch. The tram was delivered to Estonia’s capital from the plant in Bydgoszcz, Poland, early in June.

The 28.6 m three-car Twist can accommodate 309 passengers, 65 of whom are seated, and has an operational speed of 50 km/h. The passenger area has AC, remote diagnostic, passenger counting, energy recuperation systems, and information displays. According to the manufacturer, the tram’s floor can be heated under adverse weather conditions.

Under Pesa’s first tram contract in Estonia and the exercised option, overall 23 trams are to be delivered to the city operator Tallinna Linnatransport, with the total value of the deal estimated at €52 mln.
