Russia: ROLLINGSTOCK has been informed by the Belorussian company’s personnel responsible for the handover that the T856 tram is ready for launch. The tram is now being prepared for pre-operational service.
This is the first company’s low-floor three-car tram, the development of which was announced in 2021. The first contract for this model was signed in 2022. The customer from Nizhny Novgorod expects to receive 26 three-car vehicles from the Minsk plant.

The T856 is based on a single-car tram, the T811, and has a length of 27.5 m, a capacity of 287 passengers, and 55 seats. Its exterior follows that of the MiNiN trams already in service.
At the same time, BKM Holding is delaying the delivery of trams. All 144 single-car and 26 three-car trams were due to be delivered to Nizhny Novgorod by the end of 2024, but are now expected to be supplied in the end of 2026.
