France: To date, Alstom has already delivered 6 five-car TW20 trams to the Paris transport operator, RATP. Currently, they are into trial operation in the city to ensure later the passenger service on the 17 km T1 line to be launched on 10 December.
The low-floor TW20 is 33 m long, can accommodate 200 passengers and has a maximum speed of 70 km/h. There are six 1,300 mm double-leaf doors on each side.
The TW20 obtains solutions up to modern standards, among which climate control systems, LED lights, LCD screens, USB ports and others. Alstom says the TW20 is 95% recyclable and 99% reusable.
The €130 mln order for 37 five-car trams was placed in 2021, and July saw an option for an additional 28 units worth €89 mln. The first tram was delivered in March.
