Germany: The second-generation three-car vehicle makes its debut at the exhibition in Berlin. The 30.8 m-long “tram” can accommodate 300 people and reach peak speeds of 100 km/h.
The ART 2.0 platform provides for modifications with traction batteries, supercapacitors and catenary power supply. The hydrogen version of the ART 2.0 has an operational range of about 390 km, with about 100 km, when powered by batteries. The five-minute recharge allows a “tram” to travel 20 km.

CRRC calls the ART the world’s first trackless train. Technically, it’s a rubber-tyred tri-articulated bus, which runs a dedicated and marked lane like a tram.
There are nine lines in five Chinese cities, where the ART is launched. The vehicles are undergoing test runs in Malaysia, the UAE, Indonesia, Australia and Türkiye.
