Brazil: CRRC has presented the first four-car metro train for the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte at the Changchun plant in China.
The train was unveiled to the governor of Minas Gerais state, Mr. Romeu Zema, in mid-June. The first unit is scheduled to be shipped to Brazil by September, with the initial fleet of 10 trains expected to enter service by the end of 2026.

The new trains incorporate automatic train operation, allowing for automated stopping and departure at stations and door management. Additional features include real-time monitoring of electrical components, passenger counting systems, and energy recovery technology. Each car is fitted with two air-conditioning units that automatically monitor and control air quality.
CRRC signed a contract in mid-2024 to supply 24 trains for Belo Horizonte’s two metro lines, with the rolling stock investment exceeding BLR 700 mln ($127.7 mln).
