Colombia: The inaugural trainset arrived at the port of Cartagena on 2 September. It will soon be transported to Bogotá for a full series of static and dynamic tests. A further five trains are expected to be delivered from the factory in Changchun, China, by the end of the year.
The driverless GoA4 six-car trainset, measuring 134 metres in length, is designed to carry up to 1,800 passengers, including 252 seated, and can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h.

CRRC is contracted to supply a total of 30 trains for Bogotá’s first metro line. The manufacturer, part of a Chinese consortium, secured the turnkey project contract in 2019.
Trial operations for the new fleet are scheduled to begin in September 2027, with commercial service expected to start in March 2028. Initially, trains are planned to run at intervals of 140 seconds. Preparations are underway for tenders on the second line, for which 25 similar trains are planned to be purchased.
