Spain: In return for €850 mln, the manufacturer will supply 40 metro trains that were ordered in June.
The contract signed after the tender also includes an option for the same amount, which was exercised in November. The six-car Inneo trains will operate on three metro lines, with the first vehicle entering service in 2027.

Compared to the six-car trains currently in service, the new trains will carry almost 1,400 passengers instead of 1,200. This increase has been made possible by wider cars (2.9 m vs 2.8 m), gangways between cars and the elimination of driving cabs. The Inneos will operate either GoA2 or even fully unattended, GoA4.
The current fleet of the Madrid metro includes over 600 CAF trains, making up the majority.
