USA: The full-scale mock-up of the Type 10 four-car tram was exhibited at one of Boston’s squares late in October.
It features a driver’s cab, exterior, inter-car gangway, interior with seats and areas for wheelchairs and ramps. CAF says the final model will be designed, taking into account comments on the mock-up.
CAF received an $811 mln order to supply 108 such seven-car trams in 2022. The launch of the first trams is scheduled for 2027, with the delivery of the last units in 2031. The LRVs will be manufactured at CAF’s site in Elmira.

The new Type 10 is to replace the Type 7 and Type 8 trams, produced by Kinki Sharyo and Breda in the 1980s–2000s. In comparison to its counterparts, the Type 10 will be 100% low-floor, 12 m longer and able to accommodate up to 400 passengers.
