India: In December, three-car Movia platform trainsets began operating on the first 6.2 km section of the Orange Line, featuring eight stations.
Each steel-bodied train can run at a maximum speed of 80 km/h and carry 1.1 passengers, 144 of whom are seated. There are also designated spaces for people in wheelchairs.
To date, nine of the 27 trainsets ordered in 2022 have been delivered to Bhopal. The first trainset arrived in the city in September 2023, 14.5 months after contract award.

The first trains in Indore were launched in June, with the city having received 19 of 25 trainsets. Under the Make in India programme, the rolling stock is manufactured at Alstom’s plant in Savli.
