Egypt: The first trainset of nine Metropolis cars has left the plant in Petite-Forêt, France, for the Egyptian capital.

Its 2,580 passengers can pass through wide gangways between cars, with special area reserved for women. 98% of its components are recyclable. The delivery also includes the predictive maintenance system HealthHub.

In November 2021, the National Authority for Tunnels inked a €876 mln contract with the manufacturer for the delivery of 55 trains and their maintenance over eight years. The project is funded by the French government.
