Australia: The three-car low-floor G Class tram will undergo testing on a purpose-built test track at the Maidstone Tram Depot, followed by a trial on the city’s tram network. The launch is expected early in 2026.
The 25 m tram has two pivoting end bogies and a central non-pivoting one. Each pivoting bogie is fitted with two 105 kW motors by Škoda Electric. The tram can accommodate 150 passengers, 48 of them seated.

An order to supply 100 such trams was received by Alstom in 2022. The mock-up of the head car was unveiled in 2023. The vehicles are assembled at Alstom’s Dandenong site with a 65% localisation rate. The contract, valued at AUD 1.85 bln ($1.2 bln), also includes a 15-year maintenance. Specifically for this project, Alstom has constructed a new depot in Maidstone.
